Troy Bolton is played by Zac Efron. In the movie Troy wins a basketball match against West High. Later, he finds out that Gabriella is going to a different school to him that is miles away. At the end, he decides to go to a basketball and drama school that is very close to hers. Good choice!
Zac Efron has been in Hairspray and a couple more movies. He is a professional actor now and is Vanessa Anne Hudgen's boyfriend.
